Tuesday Evening

            The meeting was called to order by Randall A. Grossman, Chairman, at 6:31 PM as Ronald Miller led in prayer.


The following was elected:


            Vice Chairman of Annual Conference

                        Calvin T. Reed (1 year)


            Richard T. Paashaus led the Conference in a time of worship. The Conference sang, I Worship You Almighty God. He read Titus 3:3 and led us in singing, How Deep the Father’s Love and closed in prayer. He then read John 17:6-12, the text for the evening message after which the Conference sang, Amazing Love. An offering was received for the Darlene Mahurin Fund, which is used by the Conference Pastor for the needs of pastors and their families. Richard T. Paashaus then read John 17:13-19, after which the Conference sang the first two verses of, The Church’s One Foundation. John 17:20-23 was read and the third verse of, The Church’s One Foundation was sung.

            Jonathon W. Arnold, Sr. spoke on the theme “Our Reflection of God’s Glory” using John 17:6-23 as his text. We ended our worship time together by singing the last verse of The Church’s One Foundation and Richard T. Paashaus reading Ephesians 3:20-21. 


Report of the Registrar:


            The following have requested to be excused from all of Annual Conference: Roger L. Reitz and Leonard E. Buck.

            Resolved, that these requests be granted.

 

Resolved, that Walter R. Wagonseller be seated as the Alternate Delegate from Blandon BFC.


Resolved, that the minutes of the fifth meeting of Annual Conference be approved.

Report of the Committee to answer the request from the Board of Elders of Grace BFC, Nazareth, Pa


            Resolved, that the following (found in bold type) be adopted as First Reading:


            Article 103-5.5

“Remarriage is permissible for those who have been legitimately divorced or whose return to the former partner is determined by the elders as they study the Scriptures to be impossible.” (addition found in bold type).

            Resolved, that the report be accepted.

            Alan H. Russell (3 years)


Resolved, that the meeting be adjourned.


            The meeting was adjourned at 8:12 PM. D. Thomas Philips prayed, asking the Lord for a victory of the Marriage Amendment to the Pennsylvania Constitution that would establish marriage as the union of one man to one woman. Philip E. Yerrington also prayed, asking the Lord for Antonio and Eli a young couple from Dos Hermanas, Spain, whose thirteen year old son has disappeared. Randall A. Grossman closed in prayer remembering Barry J. Minsky, who is facing surgery today.
